Clark County Council · Oct 05, 2026 · 11:57–12:03 · Watch on CVTV ↗

The council considered a comprehensive plan amendment to adopt the City of Vancouver's density credit system, which incentivizes developers to build two- and three-bedroom apartments in unincorporated areas. A housing consultant cautioned that counting these larger apartments as multiple units to meet minimum density requirements could inadvertently reduce the actual number of housing units produced, potentially threatening capacity targets within the Urban Growth Area (UGA). Ultimately, the council voted against immediate adoption and instead directed staff to evaluate the potential impacts of the density credit system over the next six months.
