The county is seeking a qualified consultant to lead the update and overhaul of its systemic safety improvement program and traffic safety management program. The consultant will go beyond revising existing documents. The goal of this proposal is to create a functional sustainable and actionable safety program that aligns with Wash Dot's highway safety improvement program, target zero and the U.S. Department of Transportation safe systems approach principles and this positions the county to secure and implement safety funding effectively. Clark County Public Works will be partner with the county to assist with updating and improving two critical safety planning documents. RFP983 invited the consultant community to propose methodologies and

1:40:08 strategies that will not only update the technical content of the county's plans but also improve the county's ability to prioritize, fund and deliver transportation safety projects. The consultant will provide a review of the plan for the next steps and also identify internal process improvements and resource needs. As a result of the county's proposal review and interview process, Kittleson and Associates Incorporated was selected as the most qualified firm. Kittleson will develop a proposed updated TSMP methodology technical memorandum in line with the assessment recommendations and available data. This memorandum will document a clear and effective and effective screening and prioritization process to establish implementable safety project concepts. 1:45:04 for planning and outreach services to develop the park system plan and I will walk through a quick deck. We did present a pretty extensive report last month at a council work session but wanted to walk through this deck quickly to answer any questions you might have. So really the focus of this plan, the purpose behind it is to meet our growing community's needs for parks, recreation, open space and trails. This is a requirement per the Clark County comp plan and the growth management act. It's also the key document required for state grant dollar grants. Specifically within this planning work we will be addressing these key challenges that are in front of us. One increasing park demands, evolving recreational trends, climate impacts, land acquisition needs and disparities in access throughout the county to our park system.

It's also really focused on ensuring that everybody has a voice in this process so that outreach is a really crucial part of this planning.
