Yes this is a request to for approval authorizing county manager to sign this professional services agreement with design workshop for planning and outreach services to develop the park system plan and I will walk through a quick deck. We did present a pretty extensive report last month at a council work session but wanted to walk through this deck quickly to answer any questions you might have. So really the focus of this plan, the purpose behind it is to meet our growing

1:45:27 community's needs for parks, recreation, open space and trails. This is a requirement per the Clark County comp plan and the growth management act. It's also the key document required for state grant dollar grants. Specifically within this planning work we will be addressing these key challenges that are in front of us. One increasing park demands, evolving recreational trends, climate impacts, land acquisition needs and disparities in access throughout the county to our park system. Key bodies of work will be including identifying the needs and gaps within the system. Specific amenities, types of parks, trails. It's also really focused on ensuring that everybody has a voice in this process so that outreach is a really crucial part of this planning. In that we will be developing a natural areas

1:46:27 acquisition plan, a regional trail plan and redeveloping or redefining our level of service goals for our park system. Public engagement strategies are really focused on engaging with community groups throughout the county and ensuring that everybody has a seat at the table. We will be using a variety of different methods to ensure that voices are heard through the process. Really to understand what the increased expectations are as our county continues to grow and to ensure we're building and improving partnerships throughout the county. A quick timeline. So we've already started stakeholder identification and outreach. We will be moving into in early August gathering community input. So gathering communities together and listening and hearing what folks

1:47:27 are interested in in terms of the future of their park system. We will do a system analysis and assessment. That will be July 21st. So this summer through next fall we will bring a plan review and finalization back to you in different phases from March through October of 27 with anticipated council adoption of November of 27. So that's a really brief overview. As I mentioned we did bring a more extensive overview at the work session last month. Really this is a good opportunity for us to identify what the future of our parks, our trails, our natural areas and our level of services and really provide a clear pathway and plan for the future of the county park system. >> Great. So we will be soliciting feedback through survey tools, through focus groups, through one on one conversations. We will be meeting with community groups, organizations, neighborhood associations to hear what folks want to see out of their park system. >> Okay.
